The Wealth You Spend
Health is the wealth you spend without knowing,
The coin you carry but ignore.
You count your gold, your acres, what you own,
While the cost of health you ignore.
The sick man’s gold won’t sweeten coffee.
The healthy pauper enjoys his park for free.
The beggar dances; the rich man cannot stand.
You notice health only after it’s gone.
Youth ignores health, chases wealth; age spends wealth, craves health.
What is lost is lost. Time laughs.
